Who The Hell Are You!?
Yellow, this webmaster's name is Jamie! I'm a 20-something and I fear transition but love change. I'm from God's Country (regretably). I live in the cornfields, but I feel the most at home when I’m peering down the wall of a cliff of Earth that’s slowly being washed away by her waters. I enjoy drawing, painting, sculpting, fabric art, seaglass collecting, vintage toy collecting, finding music to listen to, looking over my plants, baking, video games, coding, writing stories,writing letters, and I’m trying to force myself to read more often. The next two years of my life will be spent in university as an art major, so I’m kinda anxious for that! Currently, I'm working my ass off at a pizza place.
What Are You Doing Here!?
This site will be used as a stand-in for social media and personal documentation. I’m tired of being spied on, fed STRAIGHT to AI, and seeing our wonderful world crumble beneath greedy fat-assed senile men when I’m trying to find my gorgeous glowing friends’ posts. I also noticed that I’ve stopped comparing myself to others since starting this Indie Web journey. Building and maintaining my own website is a healthier and much more creative way of running a personal social media 
I started this site in May of 2026, when I was completely restless during my recovery from wisdom teeth surgery. I wish I could remember exactly what inspired me to start a site, but I had been hearing about the Indie Web since 2024. I started with a template (can’t find the link!) and a dream. Eventually, after some on and off work and study, here we are at spudboy.neocities! I have a lot to do, but I’m pretty proud of it so far. Learning how to code is a perfect chronically-online to using-your-brain ratio.
Who Calls Themself Spudboy!?
Only a Spudboy would! Have you heard of DEVO? I can answer that question for you:
DEVO is a new wave “one-hit wonder” which is often recalled as a band full of nerds who dance like robots. While this is true, DEVO’s foundation is built on politics, individualism, and Western philosophy (just… stick with me here). Mark Mothersbaugh and Gerald Casale formed DEVO after witnessing their peers be shot and killed during the Kent State Shootings in 1970. DEVO stems from the idea of de-evolution, or regression, specifically in Western Society. Consumerism, out-of-hand politics, herd mentality, and conformity are all topics that are reflected in their music and music videos. Their wack-ass lyrics and melodies entice me. They stay true to their perspective, and I definitely appreciate that. I think we are devolving as a society now more than ever. “Spud boy” originally comes from the song “Smart Patrol / Mr. DNA”, but was adopted as a name to define someone as a DEVO fan. I really appreciate DEVO’s commitment to their aesthetics and message. They have a lot to say and look absolutely ridiculous while doing it. Heart eyes emoji.
